Book Review: "When a Heart Stops" by Lynette Eason

I received "When a Heart Stops" to review from Revell Books.  I had never read any books from Lynette Eason, so I was interested in reading it.  I also love a good suspense story any day!!!

Lynette Eason is the author of several romantic suspense novels, including Too Close to Home, Don't Look Back, A Killer Among Us and When the Smoke Clears. She is a member of American Fiction Christian Writers and Romance Writers of America. A homeschooling mother of two, she has a master's degree in education from Converse College. She lives in South Carolina. Visit her website at www.lynetteeason.com and follow her on Twitter at @LynetteEason.
"When a Heart Stops" is actually the second book in the Deadly Reunion series.  Since I hadn't ready any of her books before and didn't know what to expect on how much information I would need to take from Book 1 of the Deadly Reunion series into Book 2, I decided to go ahead and buy Book 1 and read it so that I was prepared to read Book 2.

To say that I was enjoyed both books would be a total understatement.  But since this post is just about the review of Book 2, I will do my best to just stick to "When a Heart Stops."

Ms. Eason did a great job of laying the background of the characters in this book so that if you hadn't read Book 1 in the series you would not feel lost.

This book kept my attention to the point I was not able to put it down multiple times, which was not helpful!  You see, I have been trying hard to take time at night before bed to just read a couple chapters at night of non-learning reading.  With this book, my couple of chapters ultimately turned into hours of reading and not enough sleep!  And for this busy momma that was not a good thing!  But I have to say it was worth it!

To not give away the complete story line and the ending, I am just going to give you the description of the book, so you know what the book is about:

"Spunky and outgoing, nothing much bothers medical examiner Serena Hopkins--except for the thought of falling in love again. But when a serial killer is picking off her former classmates, Serena's life becomes intertwined with her old high school crush, FBI agent Dominic Allen. Is the secret she's keeping putting her next on the killer's hit list? Can she trust Dominic with the truth before it's too late?"

The only other thing I am going to tell you is that if you like good suspense novels, run -- do not walk -- but run, you hear me -- RUN -- to your local book store and get "When a Heart Stops."  I do not think you will be disappointed!!!!

I was provided a copy of this by Revell Books to review on my blog.  My opinion is strictly that, my opinion, and was in no way influenced by Revell Books in anyway.

"When a Heart Stops" is available October 2012  at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.

I have four special needs children three still at home and a fourth which is an adult that still needs guidance and will never make it on her own. I know the grief you feel every day and the joy when a milestone is met. They are our lives and our demise. Bless your heart and hang in there. The best and worst is yet to come. eatkakes.blogspot.com/
